SEATTLE, WA – The Bush School Boys Golf Team delivered a historic performance in their recent match against Eastside Prep, finishing with a collective score under par – a rarely seen accomplishment at the high school level and the first time the team has reached this milestone in Coach Erin Szekely’s more than ten years at The Bush School.
Leading the charge was Justin C. ’28, who delivered an exceptional round of five under par (31) to earn medalist honors. His performance marks the lowest individual score in over a decade and is believed to be the best in school history.
Justin’s season has been defined by steady improvement and consistent excellence. In week one, he shot a 35 (medalist), followed by another 35 (2nd place) in week two. He posted a 37 in week three and a 33 (tied for medalist with teammate Aydin M. ’29) in week four before his record-setting 31 this week.
“This group has been building momentum all season,” said Associate Athletic Director, Erin Saunderson. “They’ve worked hard to refine their game, and it all came together in the match against Eastside Prep. Shooting under par as a team – with a performance like Justin’s leading the way – is a huge milestone for our program.”
With this win, the Bush Boys Golf Team improved to a perfect 5-0 record, maintaining their undefeated season and building excitement across the school community for what lies ahead when the playoffs take place in the spring.
