This past weekend, Xander T. ‘26 took his talents to New York to compete on one of the biggest stages in high school track and field, the Nike Indoor Nationals Championship. Going up against top athletes from across the country, Xander delivered an impressive performance in the 60m Hurdles Emerging Elite division.
In the preliminary round, Xander set the tone early, sprinting to a personal best time of 8.14 seconds, earning him a second-place finish and a strong position heading into finals. Building on that momentum, he returned for the championship race and secured third place overall with a time of 8.16 seconds, solidifying his place among the nation’s elite competitors.
Competing at an event of this caliber is no small feat, and Xander’s performance reflects both his dedication and continued growth this season. Racing against some of the fastest hurdlers in the country, he rose to the occasion and represented himself and his program with pride.
Outside of competition, Xander and his family made the most of their trip by exploring New York, including a visit to the National History Museum—adding a memorable experience to an already exciting weekend.
Congratulations to Xander on an outstanding showing on the national stage. We look forward to seeing what he accomplishes in the outdoor season!
